Selecting a Parking Mode

One of the standout features of Thinkware Dash Cams is their parking mode, which allows them to keep recording even when the car is parked and the engine is turned off.

Thinkware Dash Cams offer 3 Parking Mode options; Motion Detection, TimeLapse, and Energy Saving Mode.

To learn more about each of the Parking Modes, read below.

Motion Detection

Initiates a recording when there is motion present in front of a camera lens or impact with the vehicle.

Motion Detection mode records 10 seconds before the incident up until 10 seconds after (20-second clip).

TimeLapse

Captures a series of images at a slower rate than they will be played back (2 FPS).

When these images are played back at a normal speed, they create a sped-up effect that condenses a longer period of time into a shorter duration.

A 10-minute period of time is condensed into a 2-minute video clip (No Audio)

Records Impacts (50 seconds before impact, up until 50 seconds after)

Energy Saving Mode

In the Energy Saving Mode, the Dash Cam enters a “sleep mode” to conserve the car battery life and “wakes up” when an impact is detected to save the footage instantaneously.

Records 1 second after the impact up until 20 seconds after.

Can be used with the RADAR Module (U1000 Plus, U1000, X1000, Q1000) to extend the duration of the video clips.
