Thinkware U1000 nightmare cloud Setup!!!

Was informed by Thinkware that the only way to use the cloud service was to set it up on a mobile phone with a hotspot. I tried a mobile hotspot but it would not work. Shame on Thinkware Blackvue X series cloud service works with mobile hotspots as well as vehicle hotspots and mobile phone hotspots come on thinkware get with the program.
It works perfectly with T Mobile Franclin T9 Hotspot. It was very easy set up. I am also using Blink Camera with the Hotspot so I can set Energy Save Mode on u1000 and live on Blink at the same time without any problem. Both u1000 and Blink use Hotspot.
I am waiting for confirmation, but based on the How To and RADAR, if you enable Energy Saving Mode which is required for RADAR then another How To says that all Cloud services are disabled on the U1000 in Energy Saving Mode.
Seems to defeat the whole purpose of buying the RADAR unit. Hopefully they have a work around, without Cloud when parking nothing stops a vandal or thief from just stealing the camera/memory card.
It is a series of steps though to connect to the Hot Spot on the phone first and then the External Hot Sport. If you follow their instructions to the T, especially keeping things turned off until the right step. It works.
Basically:
Make sure phone hotspot is off. Connect via wifi.
Once connected to wifi, select connect to phone hot spot.
turn on phone hot spot.
Then try to connect to the external hotspot following their guide. You will need to turn off your phone hot spot at a certain point. I agree this may be an issue if you are also using your phone hot spot for other things you don't want on the external one.
