Hotspot and overall connection issues
I recently purchased the U1000 camera only model. Quite excited. went through all the instructions as I saw it and got everything up and running. I connected to WiFi through my phone and then changed it to the phones Hotspot - a few attempts to get it, but ended up with the notification that I was connected to the internet. I sent the car out for a test run and was able to access the camera remotely from home and tested the geofence area - all worked great. Then I shut off the car. Back in the next day and start the car - no connection to the same phone either with WiFi or Hotspot - had to re-setup everything again?!? This was painful this time but managed to do it in the end. But again, as soon as the car is shut off, it will not reconnect on it's own. I am using the supplied cig lighter adapter for power and of course all power is lost when the car is turned off - tell me you don't need the hardwire kit for this to work??? At wits end with this thing.

I just bought mine two days ago. It seems that if I turn on my phone's WiFi hotspot before I start the car, that the camera will see it right away once it powers on. Hope that helps.
I've had my U1000 for a week and it will not automatically connect, I have to manually connect it every time and it usually takes several attempts. Very frustrating
I've tried to connect my U1000 to my phone Hotspot but the phone only allows either WIFI or Hotspot, not both. So I'm not able to connect the phones Hotspot at all.... Seems the U1000 is dysfunctional regarding WIFI connectivity.
