I just got my FA200 today. I went to install it on my 2002 WRX, but the OBDII power cable flashes red for a moment then goes dark. The unit has yet to turn on. Is the cable bad? Is it my car?

How could the cable not be compatible? It's a 2002 model, not pre-96, so it has an OBDII port.
