Non-adjustable parking mode start - Why bother!
My first camera was F770. My current one is U1000.
It looks like this is my last Thinkware purchase.
Reason: The company simply does not care about usability.
This is a management problem and not a technical issue. Such problems never end.
Problem: The parking mode start is hardcoded to 45 sec. This results in a torrent of false positive "parking incidents" (shopping bags anyone).
Result: You learn to disregard them and you miss the person who scratched your car. Short of an accident or a key-along-the-side-poke-you-in-the-eye gash you will react too late.
Solution: Enable custom delay of parking recording start.
How easy is it to implement: VERY!!!!!
Will it be fixed: No! Why? A feature like this cannot be fixed for one of these two reasons:
1. The BIOS really sucks (excluded as the problem moves from one model to another).
2. The management seriously does not give a @#$% about the customers. They only need to secure enough cash-flow. New buyers can provide this.
So here we go. The only reason I bought the U1000 was because of the pre-existing wiring.
Honestly ... not worth the aggravation. The above adds to other issues with image quality when lifting license plates of recorded accidents (I got lucky I salvaged one single distorted frame)!
Does the camera have positives. Sure... but if the basics don't work, what good are the positives for? Cloud storage ... seriously!? ... for what ... a thousand shopping bag images!
So, there's that.
Not a rant - Just facts. It is what it is.

Hello There, thank you for your feedback. It's normal for the Dash Cam to take up to 3 minutes to enter Parking Mode, depending on the vehicle and how the Dash Cam is wired. We understand the frustration with false incidents that the Dash Cam may detect. We suggest setting the Impact Sensitivity to the lowest to avoid this. We'll be happy to forward this suggestion along to our development team!
I just want to say (I haven’t even got my dash cam yet it’s in route) that apon watch like a million reviews of every single out there this adjustability to the starting time would be a welcome addition to cut down on false notifications before leaving the vehicle to shop. If it’s 3 minutes? I think think that would be sufficient for most but adjustability would welcome.
Actually setting the parking mode delay for ignition-OFF will resolve only half of the problem. The other half of false-positive events is generated on entry. You enter the car and turn the engine ON - that is already a "Parking Event". They should also disregard all events that occur within, say 45 sec BEFORE ignition-On event.
