Device access while in parking mode on home WiFi

Dan Speers

I really appreciate that the U1000 is able to connect to WiFi while in parking mode.  I have it set to connect to my home WiFi network while parked in my driveway.  That said the functions available while at home seem very limited.   It would good if we could change settings and download other files directly from the device since it is on the same WiFi network as my phone - basically enable full app features while in parking mode.

Alerts are also good but need improvement.  The summary list tells you when but not where, to see the where you have to go into the alert, and that is rather tedious.  I get a lot of alerts from things like opening/closing of doors and the storage boxes on the side of the truck.  I don’t mind that it notices such things, but I would like to more easily identify where these alerts happened from the summary list.

When an alert does happen and I get a message on my phone about it, a screenshot from the camera would be a great addition.  Show me what the camera saw at the time of the alert.   As it stands I have to wait until I get back to the vehicle and turn it on to see what happened.  This gets even better if those screenshots were available in the alert view as well in the cloud app.

Hello Dan, thank you for reaching out!

The U1000 will also upload Strong Impact videos, along with the notifications.

You will receive two types of notifications, one is the Impact Notification, which won't have the video uploaded.

If a stronger impact happens, you will receive a Strong Impact Notification and the Impact Video will be automatically uploaded, allowing you to view this video no matter where you are.

I use the hardwire connect as well (ODBII adapter) and I have the U1000 connect to WiFi using the personal hotspot mode, so the U1000 connects to my phone.  You can have more than one hotspot configured for the U1000 to connect to, and for me one of those is my home network which it can easily connect to from my driveway.
