I have a Q800pro and I don’t think parking mode is working/ being engaged. I had it on motion detection but my battery died a couple times and the mechanic blamed the motion detection setting so I changed it to energy saving mode. The camera never turns off after ignition is off… it did the same on motion detection and I never saw anything in the videos where motion was detected. I mostly want it for hit and runs so not sure what setting to put it on for it to actually turn off and only record when impact is detected.
Hi There, when turning off the vehicle, you should hear the Dash Cam announcing "parking recording will now start". If you don't hear this, one of two things might be happening:
1 - Dash Cam stays on after turning the vehicle off, but doesn't announce "parking recording will now start".
If this is the case, this is an issue with the hardwiring installation, where the Red Cable (switch power) is plugged into the wrong fuse (plugged into a constant power fuse). This may cause battery drainage, as the Dash Cam stays on in Continuous Mode, without the battery protection option.
2 - Dash Cam shuts off after turning the vehicle off.
If this is the case, this is also an issue with the hardwiring installation, but in this case, the Yellow cable (constant power) is plugged into the wrong fuse (plugged into a switch power fuse). This won't cause any issues to your battery, as the Dash Cam shuts off and doesn't use any power. However, the Dash Cam will be off an not recording.

Okay. And which fuse is the correct one if it is on continuously and doesn’t turn off?

If the Dash Cam stays in Continuous Mode after turning the car off, check the Red Cable, which is for switch power. The Red Cable must be plugged into a fuse that will lose power once you turn the vehicle off, while the yellow cable should be plugged into a fuse that will not lose power when you turn the vehicle off.
