X1000-new installation
- Edited
Greetings,
Just had my X1000 with GPS installed (professionally). Support is closed for the holidays so I'll ask my question here.
1- First of all, the dashcam files are in HEVC format. Can't play them on Win's 'Movie & TV' media player; must use VLC, which does not have the Next icon to click to view the next file. In VLC, it seems you have to close it and find VLC and click on the next file to view...pain in the neck. Don't want to use VLC as my default. Can the format be changed to AVC in the camera?
2- Though the files are '2K QHD', the Driving's file bit rate is only 10 Mb/s and 83,968Kb. Really lousy quality. Hard to read signs in the video clips. The Parking bit rate is only 5 Mb/s and file size is only 16,384Kb. This does not seem to be '2K QHD' which is supposed to be better than 'Full HD'. Not please with the lack of quality.
3- The rear camera's files are reversed--left to right. Looks like I am driving down the wrong side of the street. (It's not upside down, but like looking in a mirror...reversed left to right). Is there an adjustment for this?
4- The 'Dashcam PC Viewer' program really sucks (Ver 1.4.4.2). The quality of the viewed files are really really bad. So wavy, it's hard to watch. And the voices from the dashcam come on so loud, you have to turn down your normal volume level. Maybe I can reduce the volume of the cam's announcement in the settings...I hope. Really stupid. Comes out so loud and distorted. Doesn't show the MPH or GPS, either (or viewing in VLC). The date/time at the bottom of the video can't be read, so small.
Just comparing this X1000 to my previous Viofo cam. Returned the Viofo because the rear cam failed to take videos randomly. After a year of trying to fix it, I returned them and now trying the Thinkware...but not happy. Viofo's quality was great and the files were AVC, 1920x1080, 413,884Kb and a bit rate of 18.4 Mb/s.... Very good quality videos, but just a problem Viofo could not fix with the rear camera.
Any ideas on these items...?
PS And, the ADAS is not even available yet. They said it will be in the next firmware update 'in a month or so.
