U1000 - Parking mode missing events. Blind spot?
Hi There,
I had a U1000 (w/o radar) profressionally installed in my Honda a few months ago. I've been generally happy, but I've noticed that the camera isn't detecting events I would expect it to in Park Mode. I have it set to use motion detection rather than time lapse, as it's normal for my car to sit for a number of days at a time without moving.
I park in an underground garage. I often get parking incident recordings of a car 5 stalls ahead of me coming and going. However, it never records either of the cars that park directly next to me when they come and go from their spaces. I can appreciate it won't be able to record 90 degress out in either direction, but I would expect a vehicle parking on either side of me to pass through the FOV of the camera, trigger the motion sensor, and capture a 20s clip.
Are my expectations wrong in this? Is there something wrong with how it was installed?

Hello Andrew, we are sorry to hear that! The Dash Cam should detect both motion and impacts. The videos where the Dash Cam detected a motion will be saved to the Motion Detection folder, while the Impact ones will be under Parking Incident. Keep in mind that you can change the sensitivity for motion and impacts. A higher sensitivity means that the Dash Cam will detect more motions, and it also might trigger the impact by opening/closing the door.
