U1000 wifi
is there a way to have the dash cam connect to my trucks built in WIFI modem, vice having it connect to the internet via my phone and a hot spot?
this would be great for while truck is running if it needs to communicate with cloud?
and is it required to be connected via hot spot of phones wifi each time it turns on?
thanks

Hello Robert! Thank you for reaching out, we would be happy to answer your questions!
1. Yes! You can connect to your truck's built-in Wi-Fi. To do so, you have to add it as a new hotspot device, please give us a call at 1-844-965-9273 as we would like to walk you through the connection steps.
2. You do not need to connect to the hotspot/Wi-Fi when you first turn the camera on. The only time you need to connect is when you would like to access the Cloud features or when accessing the app connections!
i tried calling the number, but it goes to a fax type of noise
the unit is seeing my built in truck wifi, as its voice has told me when i start the truck its connected.
i still have issues connecting the unit to my phone. if i turn off the vehicles wifi, and turn on my phone wifi it will about 50/50 connect to the unit.
i did the last software update this afternoon, and was able to log in to the unit via my phone. but once i logged out and tried again to reset the UTC time it simply refused.
IF its logging into my vehicles wifi, does that mean its talking to the cloud as i drive?
thank you
Once both the dashcam and my phone are connected to my car wifi with Internet access, should I be able to download files with the app without haing to disconect and reconnect useing the built in Thinkware SSID?
Hello George, thank you for reaching out, we would be happy to answer your questions!
You need to be inside of the vehicle and connect to the dash cam's wifi to download the recordings. Please take note that once your mobile phone's screen goes time out or you switch to another app for a long time it will disconnect automatically.
Did you just receive an inquiry for assistance with the camera or is this just an old question that somehow resurfaced?
yes i figured it out awhile ago
