What is Smart Parking Recording

Smart Parking Recording is an intelligent feature of the dash cam. It consists of two different settings that aid the dash cam during high-temperature operation (1) and low-voltage operation (2).

Compatible Dash cams

  • U3000*
  • U1000 Plus*
  • Q1000*
  • F70 PRO*
  • Q850
  • Q200
  • ARC

*Only the Thermal Protection feature is available

How does the Thermal Protection - Smart Parking Recording work?

The Thermal Protection feature is the smart feature that prevents heat-related damage by automatically switching the dash cam to a low-power mode if the temperature inside the vehicle gets too high during Parking mode.

In this mode, the dash cam records incidents triggered by impacts only until the dash cam's operating temperature is low enough to resume Motion Detection or Timelapse Parking mode.

When the temperature inside the vehicle exceeds 65°C during parking mode, the Dash Cam switches to Thermal Protection - Smart Parking Mode.

In this mode, the dash cam will only record impacts detected to the vehicle (records a 20-second video immediately after an impact has been detected).

After the temperature cools down to 55°C and below, the Dash Cam will switch back to normal Motion or Timelapse Parking Mode.

*Available with U3000, Q1000, Q850, Q200, ARC, and F70 PRO

How does the Long-Time Recording - Smart Parking Recording work?

The Long-Time Recording feature is the smart feature that extends the dash cam's parking mode by automatically switching the dash cam to a low-power mode if the vehicle battery voltage is low.

For example, if you have the battery voltage cutoff set at 12.4V, long-time recording will take effect at 12.5V (0.1V before the cutoff). In this mode, the dash cam will only record impacts detected to the vehicle (records a 20-second video immediately after an impact has been detected) with lower power consumption.

This will extend the dash cam's parking mode capability before the battery voltage cutoff kicks in.

*Available only with Q850, Q200, and ARC

Disclaimer

  • Smart Parking Mode can only be enabled when using the Motion and Timelapse Parking Modes. If set to Energy Saving mode, the dash cam's operation does not change.
