The Dash Cam is not entering Parking Mode
If your Thinkware Dash Cam is not entering Parking Mode when your turn off the ignition, this is caused by the Dash Cam Parking Mode settings or the wiring itself.
Check if the Dash Cam is entering Parking Mode
The main indication that the Dash Cam is entering Parking Mode is the verbal message "Parking Recording will now start" after turning off the ignition.
Other indications are that the buttons on the Dash Cam will be disabled, and no prompt will sound when pushed.
Check if the Dash Cam is in Continuous Mode
If the Dash Cam is running in Continuous Mode, all buttons will cause an audible alert to sound.
*Unless Dash Cam has been previously muted.
The Dash Cams Status LEDs should also be active.
Enable the Parking Mode Settings
If the Dash Cam powers off with the ignition the Parking Mode may be disabled.
By default, the Parking Mode is disabled in the Dash Cam Settings.

12V Car Charger
The 12V Car Charger cannot be used for Parking Mode. Even if the 12V outlet in your vehicle provides power at all times, the dash cam will be unable to utilize the Parking Modes or settings.
You will require the Hardwiring, OBD-II Cable, or iVolt Battery Pack to use the Parking Mode feature.
Hardwiring Cable
Dash Cam Powers Down:
The Hardwiring has been installed backwards.
The Constant Wire is losing power when you turn off the ignition, causing the Dash Cam to power off.
Ensure to follow the labelling on the sheath of the wires itself, to determine which cable is Constant and ACC.
Remains in Continuous Mode:
If the Dash Cam stays powered on but does not announce "Parking Recording will now start", the ACC Wire that is supposed to lose power when you turn off the ignition, is not losing power.
The Dash Cam has been wired to 2 Constant Fuses and is unable to detect the change in voltage when you turn off the car.
Move the ACC Wire to an ACC Fuse, and the Dash Cam will enter Parking Mode.
Ensure to follow the labelling on the sheath of the wires itself, to determine which cable is Constant and ACC.
OBD-II Power Cable
Dash Cam Powers Down:
The OBD-II Port in your vehicle does not provide constant power at all times.
Check with the vehicle manufacturer to confirm power to the OBD-II Port when the vehicle's ignition is off.
Remains in Continuous Mode:
Ensure to wait up to 10 minutes for the Dash Cam to switch to Parking Mode. The time it takes to enter parking mode, depends on the vehicle model itself.
If the Dash Cam does not enter Parking Mode, check that the OBD-II Cable has been installed correctly.
If this does not correct the issue, please contact us.
iVolt Battery Packs
Dash Cam Powers Down:
Secure the connection of the Output Cable and Hardwiring Cable for the Constant and ACC wires.
Remains in Continuous Mode:
Ensure the iVolt Mini Battery Pack is losing power when turning off the ignition. If the iVolt does not lose power, the Dash Cam will not switch to Parking Mode.
