What is  "Rear Camera Disconnected"?

If you are hearing the error message "Rear Camera Disconnected" this is letting you know the Rear Camera is not recording.

How to fix "Rear Camera Disconnected"

If you are hearing the message "Rear Camera Disconnected" from your Thinkware Dash Cam, this is most likely caused by the Rear Camera itself.

Please try all of the troubleshooting steps outlined below to remedy this problem.

Troubleshooting

1. Confirm that the Rear Camera Cable is plugged into the V-IN port, and not the GPS or RADAR port.

2. Check the Rear Camera Cable for any kinks or abrasions.

3. Check if the Rear Camera is recording video files.

Connect to your Thinkware Dash Camera or use your PC/Mac Computer to confirm if the Rear Camera is recording.

4. Ensure you have purchased the correct Rear Camera Model. 

If the Rear Camera has been purchased separately from the Front Unit, please ensure you have purchased the correct rear camera. If unsure, please contact us for assistance.

    The rear camera is connected with the cable that was provided in the kit and installed with the F & R markings as they should!  The rear camera refuses to show any signs of activity……………..  I don’t know if it is the CAMERA or the CABLE or both.
