iVolt Mini Battery Pack Issues

iVolt Mini Battery Pack

Increase the duration of the Parking Surveillance mode of your THINKWARE Dash Cam with the power source; the iVolt Mini External Battery.

If you are encountering an issue with the iVolt Mini Battery Pack, please refer to the troubleshooting steps outlined below to correct the problem.

If the issues do persist, please reach out to our team at support@thinkware.com or 1-844-865-9273.

Dash Cam Switching to Parking Mode

The Dash Cam can only switch to Parking Mode once power has been lost to the iVolt Mini Battery Pack. The Battery Pack is losing power, causing the dash cam to enter parking mode at random.

1.  Check the connection of the Input Cable.

Ensure this is securely connected to the Fuse Tap, and to the Fuse Box itself.

*You may need to test using a different 20A Fuse if the one used is not working correctly.

2. Check the connection between the Output Cable and Hardwiring Cable.

Ensure the cables are connected securely and spliced to the corresponding colour.

*If not connected securely, the dash cam may enter Parking Mode or power down.

Dash Cam not entering Parking Mode

If the Dash Cam is not entering Parking Mode when you turn off the ignition, the iVolt Mini Battery Pack is not losing power.

1.  Ensure you have enabled the Parking Mode Setting.

2. Check the fuse used for the Input Cable.

Ensure the fuse used to power the iVolt Mini Battery Pack is only receiving power when the ignition is on.

*You may need to test using a different 20A Fuse if the one used is not working correctly.

3. If using the 12V Car Charger Input Cable, check if your vehicle has an always-on outlet.

*If connected to an always-on 12V outlet, the Battery Pack will not lose power with the ignition and may cause your vehicle battery to drain.

Dash Cam will not Power On

If the Dash Cam will not power on when using the iVolt Mini Battery Pack, this can be caused by a few different reasons. Refer to the following article.
