This article helps you troubleshoot a THINKWARE LTE module that fails to connect or shuts off.
Registration and connection depend on the identification number, an active internet connection, USB-C port settings, battery protection settings, and account registration.
Note: Do not confuse the THINKWARE CONNECTED app with the THINKWARE DASH CAM LINK app. The THINKWARE DASH CAM LINK app is used to connect directly via Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and establish local connection, while the THINKWARE CONNECTED app provides remote cloud features, impact notifications, and live vehicle tracking.
If your LTE module fails to register, displays an unlit LED, or disconnects during parking mode, follow the hardware and power diagnostic steps below.
Already tried some steps? Jump to:
1. Verify Physical Cable Connection and USB-C Port Settings
2. Check Status LED Indicator and SIM Activation
3. Adjust Battery Protection Voltage Cut-off for Parking Mode
Verify Physical Cable Connection and USB-C Port Settings
1. Disconnect the USB-C cable from the front camera and Micro 5-pin connector from the LTE Module, then re-insert both ends firmly until they fit completely.
2. Turn on the vehicle's ignition.
3. Open the THINKWARE DASH CAM LINK app > [Dash Cam Settings] > [System Settings] > [USB-C].
4. Set the USB-C port setting to [LTE Modem].
5. The dash cam will reboot to apply the new USB-C settings.
Check Status LED Indicator and SIM Activation
Check the LED indicator on the dash cam for your model, then confirm its registration and connection status in the THINKWARE CONNECTED app.

The table below separates internet connection and registration-complete indicators for U3000 PRO, ARC 900, and ARC 800.
| Model and indicator | Internet connection | Registration complete |
|---|---|---|
| U3000 PRO — BT/Wi-Fi LED | Blinking Yellow | Solid Yellow |
| ARC 900, ARC 800 — STATUS LED | Blinking Yellow | Solid Yellow |
Note: The SIM card pre-installed in the LTE module must be activated as part of your THINKWARE CONNECTED subscription plan during initial registration.
Adjust Battery Protection Voltage Cut-off for Parking Mode
- If the LTE module shuts off after parking, check Battery Protection. Its voltage cut-off can turn off power to protect the vehicle battery.
- The LTE module requires continuous power to send parking impact notifications and Remote Live View feeds.
- Open the THINKWARE DASH CAM LINK app > [Dash Cam Settings] > [Record Settings] > [Battery Protection (Voltage Cut Off)].
Caution: Setting the voltage cut-off as low as 11.8V may drain older vehicle batteries to the point where the engine fails to start.
- Go to [Dash Cam Settings] > [Record Settings] > [Battery Protection]. On newer models, select [Hybrid car] under [Vehicle Type]. On models with manual voltage settings, use 12.0V for HEV or 11.8V–12.0V for PHEV. A high setting such as 12.8V can cut off power immediately after the ignition is turned off.
None of the above worked
If the issue continues after checking the registration number, internet connection, app and firmware, USB-C setting, battery protection, and account ownership, contact THINKWARE support.
