If using a Smartphone running a version of Android OS before version 7.1, you may not be able to see the Thinkware Dashcam Link App in the Google Play Store.

How to Download the Thinkware Dashcam Link app

What is an APK?

An APK (Android Package Kit) is a type of file that installs an application for Android. It's just like an executable (EXE) file for Windows or a package installer (PKG) for Mac.

Enabling "Install Unknown Apps"

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the app's screen.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Apps
  3. Select the Menu icon (upper-right).
  4. Tap "Special access"
  5. Apps, More menu, and Special Access in Android settings
  6. Select "Install Unknown Apps"
  7. Select the unknown app then enable the "Allow from this source" setting Switch onInstall unknown apps, Chrome, and Allow from this source toggle in Android settings

How to Install the APK File

1. Delete any existing Thinkware Cloud App on your smartphone.

2. Once you receive an email from Thinkware's support team with the APK File, download this to your smartphone.

3. Locate the APK file within your smartphone's downloads/files.

4. Tap the File and your Smartphone will prompt you to install the Thinkware Cloud App.OK and Install in Android Downloads
